Another bank holiday spent on the tools, this time painting the handrails, putting another coat on the hall wall and hanging some photos (shamefully on the To Do list for over a year)

I’ve just taken a punt on ordering a set of cymbals on AliExpress. They’re a special “mute” range that make a lot less noise than regular cymbals but give you a similar feel. Hoping this, along with rubber pads on the drum skins and my new double glazing, means I’ll be able to get back into practicing and build up the skills again without annoying the neighbours.

This is the first step in a larger item on the bucket list, which is to form a ageing punk band. Anyone with a good name please email it to me!

I fell for a simple sales trap today. While waiting for The Duchess to finish her inspection of the local Big Save furniture store (specifically the La Clearance designer range) I sat in a comfy chair near the entrance and got settled. The Duchess noticed the 50% Off sign for said Comfy Chair.

Less than an hour later I’m stripping the half ton of plastic covering off and assembling one of said Comfy Chairs in the garden. Suckered!

Still, as I may have mentioned it is an extremely Comfy Chair…
